Social Entrepreneurship creates the Best Small Business Opportunities

First things first ~ social entrepreneurship is the creation of small business opportunities whose mission is to alleviate a social problem.

Social entrepreneurs are more concerned with creating sustainable social change rather than creating an abundance of corporate pocket change.

As a matter of fact, I would suspect that most (if not all) TRUE social entrepreneurs use every penny of their personal income for small business marketing and other business expenses in the early stages of their business start up.

Fortunately, we now live in the Age of Technology where The Internet provides online business marketing to be effectively accomplished on a shoestring budget.

Every day there are new innovative online business marketing strategies and online business services whose only purpose is for small business success for their clients.

The corporate structure for small business whose mission is social entrepreneurship is less important than its global corporate behavior.

The intrinsic motivation of the most successful social entrepreneurs is that of philanthropy - the active promotion of human welfare; not of greed, the active endorsement of corporate financial profits.

Since social entrepreneurs are more concerned with solving a social problem, they are highly likely to have been challenged by the very same social problem they are attempting to solve.

For example, bipolar disorder appears to be affecting more people now, young and old, than in previous years.

Could this be the result of a chaotic cultural climate we now live in, or could it be that we, as a society, are more aware of the symptoms of bipolar disorder which makes the disorder appear to be more prevalent?

Regardless of the reason for its apparent increase, what's more important is to create a solution to this increasing societal problem, which is where social entrepreneurship would be of great benefit.

How can social entrepreneurship positively affect those who are challenged with bipolar disorder?

Bipolar disorder is an anxiety disorder which is characterized by severe positive and negative swings in mood, activity and energy levels. People who are challenged by symptoms of bipolar disorder also exhibit high levels of irritability and sleeplessness. These symptoms indicate the paramount need for a calm environment if the person afflicted with bipolar disorder symptoms is to have balance in their daily activities.

Without digging into the fine nuances of bipolar disorder and its symptom variability, one steady observation is the need for sleep stability in the daily schedules of the client with bipolar disorder. When the bipolar symptoms increase to the point of causing insomnia for the bipolar client, the likelihood is very high that those symptoms will increase in severity if not moderated properly.

A social entrepreneur could recognize this to be an opportunity to find homes for thousands of unwanted animals by pairing them with people who exhibit bipolar symptoms in an effort to provide each with companionship, comfort and unconditional love.

Another possible social entrepreneurship venture could be the public advocacy of medical marijuana for the treatment of anxieties which originally caused the sleeplessness in the bipolar client.

Marijuana law and marijuana addiction research has unveiled two things that are true: 1) overdosing on only marijuana has never caused death, according to all published governmental and university scientific research data; and 2) marijuana has never been solely associated with violent, aggressive or deadly behavior by its user.

With those facts widely recognized and accepted, it is of benefit to society for someone to create a small business network which promotes the growth, cultivation and sale of marijuana to the medical community for use in their various psychology programs and clinical settings.

Without fear of marijuana addiction, as stated in the book Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Facts: A Review of the Scientific Evidence, “…there is no convincing scientific evidence that marijuana causes psychological damage or mental illness in either teenagers or adults...” each mental health clinician, utilizing each client’s intrinsic motivation to create the best life for him or herself, can utilize the calming affects of marijuana to help the patient explore the root of the anxieties which cause distress.

If this paradigm became widely embraced, many, if not most, of societies problems could be alleviated, an explanation of which I will save for future articles.

In the meantime, you can google small business social entrepreneurship for more ideas for your business start up and website promotion, or you can watch this video to spark your inspiration to create sustainable global change.
